Have you ever been on the verge of just quitting or giving up on something and then right when you decide to move on something great happens that confirms that you should keep going? Well that is what a breakthrough does for you. It reminds and confirms that you are in alignment with what you have been doing in a particular area of your life.
So what is a breakthrough?
A breakthrough is a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development. Breakthroughs don’t happen everyday, but when they do, they can truly change the trajectory of your life! When they happen, it can seem like you have been chosen to receive a great reward, or what I call a blessing from the Creator. You can’t plan for them either because you don’t know when they are going to happen, but don’t worry, you will be ready. By the time you receive your breakthrough you have been “in the trenches” putting in the constant effort to make something significant happen in your life. When your breakthrough happens there is usually great happiness and joy. You think, “yes, finally!!”
Let me give you an example.
You are working on a book series idea you believe in. It has been within you for 7 years! You get married, have a child, get divorced, suddenly lose your mother to a terrible illness and end up struggling to take care of yourself and your baby. On your commute home each evening you start writing the outline you have been carrying around inside of you and you finally birth the first in the series of books. You know it is good. You want to get it published but multiple publishers reject it, about three, they don’t agree with your opinion of your book. You send it to another publisher because it is something you truly believe in and you know you must pursue it. You don’t know it yet but your breakthrough is right around the corner! The next publisher you send your manuscript to, loves it! Your book is printed. You bring forth eight more books. They go on to sell millions all over the world and become one of the greatest literary success stories in publishing history.
If this story sounds familiar, well it should, this is exactly what happened to J.K. Rowling, author of the wildly popular Harry Potter Series. You know how this turned out right? Imagine if she had quit after being rejected three times?? Breakthroughs can be financial, emotional, physical, relational, spiritual, etc. In what area of your life are you looking for your next breakthrough to happen?
So here are 5 things I want you to remember about breakthroughs:
1. You are simply DISSATISFIED with where you are and you want to make changes, you MUST! You have to lose 15 lbs., you want to get out of debt, you are unhappy in your career, or you are in an unfulfilling relationship. You feel that you just can’t go on anymore and you know something’s gotta give.
2. They are founded on INTUITION! You have a “gut feeling” about whatever the issue is that you are striving for, trust it! Your intuition is there to push you forward, it is there to urge you in the right direction and in alignment with what your spirit needs. Keep going, trust your gut.
3. Breakthroughs are typically the culmination of very HARD WORK. They don’t just happen. The key is that you must put in consistent action behind whatever you are striving for. Make it happen!
4. It is preceded by some BIG CHALLENGES. You have heard the statement, that it is in the difficult moments of your life that you go through the greatest transformation? Well it is true. When you are going through it, it seems soooo hard. You know you are truly being tested. Hang on, its coming. Don’t give up!! This is where the rubber meets the road and where champions are born.
5. Surround yourself with POSITIVITY when you are striving for a challenging goal. Nothing makes a difficult goal more difficult than if you have negative people or energy around you telling you to quit. Fill your head with everything that will encourage and feed your spirit so you won’t get down. Do whatever takes you to that positive place. Pray, meditate, listen to creative music, say your mantra, call your own tribe. Anyone that knows how to lovingly support you through those challenging times.
So now that you know what you should do when you have a breakthrough, when your breakthrough happens, remember to show gratitude and kindness to those that helped you on the journey. No one experiences a breakthrough in isolation. They are many people who are on the journey with you. Also remember to keep striving and don’t give up on yourself, or your dreams (big or small). Nothing worthwhile is ever easy! Through perseverance and hard work you will reach your goals. Know that you DO deserve every wonderful blessing that will enter your life!
And In closing I want you to remember these words from cultural icon and pioneer, Don Cornelius.
When you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on tight because ain’t nobody bad like you! And as always in parting we wish love, peace and soullllll!
xoxo,
Franka
